Overview

A promotional film for the William Pickles Group of Manchester, made for showing at the British Industries Fair. We see raw cotton being unloaded at the docks, and follow the processes that transform it into printed bales and clothing. Carding, spinning, weaving and dyeing - these all go to make a quality product which can be exported to help Britain's economic recovery in the post-war years.

The first minute of this film has no sound. The preservation of this film was funded by a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
