Overview
It's hard not to be struck by the number of beaming smiling faces as these workers walk arm in arm towards the camera. They had good reason to be happy: working conditions at this Co-operative owned enterprise, which probably produced print labels and packaging for the Society's vast range of products, would have been far superior to almost any privately run works.
