Overview

In 1947, Evan Caradoc Roberts made a prize-winning wooden model of The National Library of Wales for the National Eisteddfod. He knew the building well for he worked there as an accountant. In 1952, with the national eisteddfod taking place locally, he picked up his camera and recorded its events and notable people day by day. This year no poet was considered worthy of the Crown (for free verse) but the Chair (for verse in strict metre) was awarded to John Evans of Llanegryn.
