Dogs for Sale; Railroad Renaissance; The Highlands

Dogs for sale by the roadside, a renaissance on the railroads and an opportunity to look at the Scottish Highlands.

Anthology 1937 22 mins

Overview

It's a mixed bag of stories in this edition of the US cinemagazine March of Time. First, America's love of dogs is examined as laws are passed in New York for guide dogs. Then it's time to look at new developments on the railroad which attempt to boost traffic, while the wild, bleak beauty of the Scottish Highlands offers an opportunity to take stock of tourist traffic during the holiday season. In contrast, the desolate plight of the local fisherman and farmer are presented to the world.
