Overview
South Bersted Cricket Club hosts a Knockout Cricket Tournament in this nostalgic film from Bob Burns. Players mingle before the game as names are chalked up on the scoreboard. The umpire appears and play begins. At lunchtime the players fill up their glasses from a keg and sit at a table laden with food. After the umpire's had a snooze play resumes while the children and the wives have their lunch. Teatime sees more food laid out for everybody and the resumption of play.
Bob Burns’ amateur films feature many happy family occasions like holidays at various locations in the UK and Mallorca, weddings and events like the cricket tournament shown in this film. The collection also includes film of his local pub’s darts club outings to various matches as well as sporting events at South Bersted’s Cricket Club
