Overview
Hoseason’s Holidays often used promotional film as part of their marketing. In 1961, a 16mm colour film with sound was made. ‘Broadland Panorama’ follows holidaymakers, from the moment they arrive at Oulton Broad yacht station in their saloon car, and set off by boat up the River Waveney to Beccles, then Yarmouth, Acle, and Norwich, sunbathing on board, or stopping off at a restaurant or to go dancing. "I'm coming again next year!" say the holidaymakers.
Places of interest are: Beccles Lido; St Michael’s Church, Beccles; Berney Arms Windmill; Burgh Castle; St Olaves Priory, Herringfleet; Breydon Water; Great Yarmouth yacht station, Pier, Pleasure Beach; Lowestoft beach; Yacht racing on Oulton Broad; Acle Bridge; Somerleyton; Norwich Yacht Station, Pulls Ferry, Norwich Cathedral; Ferry Inn & Swan Inn, Horning; Lord Nelson Pub, Reedham; Pleasure Boat Inn, Hickling; Plough Inn, Blundeston. Wally Hoseason of Hoseason’s Holidays started his business with a boatyard at Oulton Broad in 1945, selling holidays not only for his own boats, but for those of his colleagues as well. In 1950, Wally’s son James took over, and quickly expanded the company.
