There are no instant answers or easy targets in Carol Morley's recreation of an anonymous life that gained interest only once it had ended. Morley recalls turning detective to remember a lonely woman in a loveless city, and finding actor Zawe Ashton (who joins her on stage) to underwrite a story which has gone on to find worldwide resonance.
