The Way He Looks 2014 12A

96 mins Director. Daniel Ribeiro

A love triangle with a difference emerges in Daniel Ribeiro’s beautifully realised romance. High school student Leonardo is blind and has always relied on his devoted best friend Giovana. But their closeness is tested by the arrival of handsome new boy Gabriel, with whom Leonardo becomes infatuated.

Adapted from his own short, Ribeiro’s funny, charming and joyous film cleverly reimagines the lexicon of onscreen love, as it depicts a romance that blossoms in the absence of sight. The film received its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2014.
