Mrs. Mopp Asks Why 1943

2 mins United Kingdom

Mrs Mopp, famed from the radio series It's That Man Again, receives advice about clothing care in wartime in this public information film. Entering the Housewives Advice Bureau she explains that she's having problems with her woollens and holds up a pair of shrunken long johns. Perhaps it's the water, the powder or the drying? The advisor shows Mrs Mopp how it should be done using a jumper as an example and - getting in some product placement - highlighting that Persil washing powder contains "the amazing oxygen washer for the whitest wash".
