Madness of the Heart 1949 PG

105 mins United Kingdom Director. Charles Bennett

Margaret Lockwood was one of Britain’s biggest stars of the 1940s and this postwar melodrama puts her through her paces as Lydia, a beautiful woman who thinks her dreams have come true when she falls in love with a wealthy French aristocrat. This is a rare directing credit for Charles Bennett (who also adapted the source novel), the successful screenwriter and early Hitchcock collaborator.

Digitisation supported by the Mohamed S. Farsi Foundation.
