Lytham Club Day Carnival 1902

8 mins United Kingdom

Lytham's 1902 Club Day was timed to coincide with Edward VII's coronation day and went ahead on the 26th June despite the coronation's deferral due to the King's ill health. The Lancashire town's Club Day, still going strong, is an annual tradesman's holiday featuring an elaborate parade of townspeople, professional bodies, schools and dignitaries, culminating in the crowning of the Rose Queen.
