Starring people, goats, dogs and trees (!), Michelangelo Frammartino's wordless, quirkly philosophical look at traditional life in rural Calabria is also very beautiful, very touching and very funny. The imaginative play with the relationship between sound and image and the virtuoso use of long takes make for an experimental film that is also wonderfully accessible
