Hold Tight / Hideaway 1966

5 mins United Kingdom

The journey to Slough was never groovier than in this fab psych-beat music promo film. The film showcases the smash hit singles 'Hold Tight' and 'Hideaway' by the hugely successful Wiltshire-bred pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, who spent more weeks in the late 1960s UK pop singles chart than the Beatles.

Following a death-defying high-speed performance of UK pop smash 'Hold Tight', precariously played while racing across the Chiswick Flyover in an open-topped Bentley (note bass player Dozy, aka Trevor Leonard Ward-Davies, clinging on for dear life), the group commandeer a nearby stately home for a rebellious rendition of their successful follow up, 'Hideaway'. Both songs were UK Top Ten hits in 1966.
