No giant killings here, as the Topical Budget newsreel rounds up a few football matches from the third round of the 1923-24 FA Cup, between First Division teams Cardiff City, Liverpool and Manchester City and lower league opposition Bristol City, Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion. The cameraman at Brighton's Goldstone Ground took up a position by the City goal, hoping for an upset, thereby failing to capture 48-year-old Welsh superstar "Billy" Meredith scoring his last goal as a professional player, in his last season.

Sadly this print is incomplete, meaning that we miss the one goal the cameras did capture - for Brighton not City - and coverage of another two games altogether.
