We’d all love to have a cute little deer magic up a refreshing beverage after a spot of tennis. When Babycham was introduced in 1953 it was targeted especially at women, and aspirational women at that. This part-animated ad from 1957 is no exception. Up to that point women ordering a drink might have settled for a sherry or port and lemon, but with the introduction of Babycham they could opt for a drink with a sense of sophistication, a “genuine champagne perry”.
