A Road in India 1938

10 mins USA Director. Hans M. Nieter

The sights of India as seen from the perspective of a dusty road. This portrait of 'the enigmatic and disturbing East' is big on exoticism and cliché, but Jack Cardiff's Technicolor cinematography makes for typically compelling viewing.

Cardiff later won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for the India-set - though filmed in the UK - 'Black Narcissus' (1947).
