It is said we make our own monsters, then fear them for what they show us about ourselves.

Dracula was transformed by film and television into a towering myth. Dracula's journey has not only taken him across continents, and through numerous adaptations, but has seen vampires develop from creatures of irredeemable evil to romantic heroes in possession of a dark secret. Zombies, werewolves, ghouls and continue to rampage through our culture, breaking taboos and upsetting the censors, but today it seems monsters have become our heroes and our fairy tales are the real nightmares.

"Well, the first thing is that I love monsters, I identify with monsters."

Guillermo del Toro
