Cult Cinema

Revisiting the many British films that have fallen through the cracks, this Flipside collection favours the overlooked, the sidelined and the undervalued. Groupies, gangsters, the weird and the wayward are given a second chance to shine.

The collection offers rare films from directors who merit attention, plus little seen performances from accomplished British actors as Helen Mirren and John Hurt. Gangsters and criminals stalk the screen in the Men of Violence collection; the youth goes wild in Rebel Rousers; the permissive society comes home to roost in The Pleasure Girls; and things turn strange in Weird Worlds. A wide range of Flipside titles that make up the Cult Cinema collection are also available on DVD and Blu-ray.

"BFI’s Flipside provides a window onto a time in British cinema when real film artists stalked our land."

Ben Wheatley (Director)
